About Us


Who we are
Diversiteria is a company spun off from the consulting firm Borwick International in order to focus exclusively on diversity education and implementation programs. The people at Diversiteria have been creating change in organizations for more than four decades, and our work has been implemented in many of the largest companies across the world, in North America, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and South Africa. We have worked in nearly every major industry from software to hardware, banking to beverages, and package delivery to construction materials.


What we do
Our approach to diversity is different in concept, in assumptions, and in execution to other diversity programs. We are in business to help you make better decisions through the power of diverse groups. Our starting point is the proven fact that diverse groups make better decisions than non-diverse groups, groups of experts, or individuals. The typical assumption of diversity consultants is that you have a problem that needs to be fixed. We are different because our goal is not figuring out your problem but helping your bottom-line performance by leveraging the power of diverse-group decision making. We assume you want your organization to function better, to make better decisions, and be more innovative by taking advantage of a hidden asset: diversity in your workforce. We help you achieve that by activating the diversity in your organization.
 

What does it mean to activate diversity?
Activation is what you do to turn the potential benefits of diversity into real competitive advantages. The goal of creating a diverse workforce may be achieved through recruiting, staff retention, and other means. Simply having diversity in the organization, however, does not mean you are bringing out the latent talents, creativity, and unique perspectives of all the people who make up that workforce. Activating diversity means making the whole greater than a sum of its parts. Diversiteria programs are designed to activate diversity.
 

What we don’t do
We don’t try to figure out what is wrong with you. Ours is not a remedial approach nor is it sensitivity training. Other people do that very well, but that is not the business we are in. Our approach is prospective not retrospective. Our method involves changing people’s roles rather than trying to correct their behavior. When people are included in decision making, when their voices are heard – not because it is the nice thing to do, but because it is the competitive thing to do – their role within the organization changes and so does their attitude toward it. And for good reason.
